The Accountant and the Migration to SAP S/4HANA

The year 2030 marks a turning point for organizations that use SAP ERP. More than just a technical deadline, it represents a strategic shift: evolve or fall behind.

The transition to SAP S/4HANA is an opportunity to transform how companies manage information and make decisions. Today, market-leading organizations stand out for:

However, obtaining the true value of this new technology depends on how it is implemented and used within the business. This is where the accountant takes on a strategic role and should:

  • Ensure proper system configuration and standardization to comply with IFRS and tax regulations.
  • Adapt the solution to local requirements
 

In addition, in a dynamic regulatory environment, organizations need to build capabilities to manage change efficiently. This requires effective coordination between the accounting and IT functions, reducing reliance on third parties and ensuring that system improvements and evolutions are considered from the design phase. Migrating is not a one-time implementation; it is about building a capability for continuous evolution.

  • Understanding the current state of the business (AS-IS) and its future development.
  • Identifying the limitations of the current system prior to migration.
  • Designing the future model (TO-BE)
  • Aligning processes, people and technology.
